33 S King St, 4Th Floor

Honolulu, HI 96813

Phone: (808) 524-4014

That's the contact info I have on them. You could call directory assistance to see if the number has been disconnected, and the Honolulu city clerk's office to find out if the school has folded. If they don't know, they should be able to refer you to someone who does. Perhaps their department of education.

If they did close, they should have transferred all their records to another (usually nearby) school. You should be able to get your transcripts from them, but you need to find out which school first. The local department of education should be able to tell you which school to contact.

Speak to your future school, and let them know about the issue. Ask them if they will admit you provisionally, while you try to obtain your transcripts. Some schools will.

Is my email address appropriate for business and other professional uses?

The primary email address I use is dubc82. Its basically like spelling my initials wc out. I know how companies and possibly universities look negatively on email addresses that are inappropriate. I know this isn't bad, but should I create one with my name to use. I don't want to change it because I have so many things set-up on it and it would be a hassle to change.
Is my email address appropriate for business and other professional uses?
That email would be fine for professional use because it doesn't mean anything, much less anything potentially offensive, but you still might consider obtaining a new e-mail just for school/work purposes so that you don't have to sort important emails from spam and all of the other e-mails you already get.
Is my email address appropriate for business and other professional uses?
It's fine. Most companies do not care about your personal email. Your work email is obviously going to follow work standards.

For business, I would probably avoid a yahoo account since it will have little ads at the bottom. I don't find that very professional.
Using an email address tagged with %26quot;yahoo.com%26quot; or %26quot;gmail.com%26quot; makes you look very small time in business. Not using your full name or atleast a version thereof can be very confusing to clients, i.e. jdoe, john.doe, etc.

Legal advice needed, domain name related?

I had done some casual computer work for a local business and was owed about $400. The owner had also asked me to purchase a domain name, as they had plans for a web site. The owner paid for this domain name with his credit card, but I was registered as the administrative and technical contact, and left me in charge of it even though he had plans for someone else to take care of the website in the future.

At that time the store wasn't doing very well, and was having trouble paying its staff. I suspected they were nearly bankrupt, as some checks had already bounced. The manager told me he wouldn't be able to pay for my $400 of labor since they weren't doing well. The owner of this store had moved to another town to open a second store under the same name.

A few weeks later I received an email from someone wanting to buy the domain name. Seeing as how I was still owed $400, I didn't hesitate to sell the domain name for the original purchase price ($200). A few weeks after that, I got a call from the owner. They were starting to set up a website and needed the passwords for the domain name. When I gave him the passwords and was told they didn't work (the new domain name owner changed them as expected), I acted as if I didn't know what had happened. I felt guilty and purchased another similar domain name (same name but different extension) for $30 and gave the store owner the password for that, but never told him of what I had really done. The owner didn't know anything about domain names so this wasn't odd to him.

Was I within my rights to sell the domain name? Was what I did illegal? From what I've discovered so far what I've done might be considered theft or conversion, but since I was %26quot;holding%26quot; the domain for him, and it was registered in my name, I'm not sure.
Legal advice needed, domain name related?
Sorry, but we are definitely talking about an unlawful conversion here. You transferred ownership rights of something that you did not legally own nor have the authority to sell. For starters, you didn't pay for it. As you said, you were just %26quot;holding it%26quot; for him. He was the legal owner. Look at it this way, if I ask you to hold my watch for me, do you have the right to sell it and pocket the money?

Further, regardless of who paid for it, it was obtained by you through an existing work contract which makes it a work by-product, owned legally by the person who commissioned you to do the work. There's a reason you felt guilty. If it feels %26quot;wrong%26quot;, it usually is wrong.

Do yourself a favor and don't ever let the business owner know what you did. He could initiate a civil lawsuit and obtain a judgment for far more than he owes you in back fees.

What you did probably wasn't illegal, but it was wrong.
Cut and dry -- Completely illegal

You said straight up that the domain was paid by the store and you made the purchase as their agent. Therefore, the domain legally belonged to them, no matter whose name was on the WHOIS record.

When you took unauthorized control of it and sold it, you basically stole their property and sold it out from under them.

The fact the store owed you money is NO EXCUSE for theft. You should have taken them to small claims court instead rather than rip them off and sell their property.

  • Eligibility for a pension from a defunct company?

my brother worked for White Motors (later changed their name to Cooper Energy) in Springfield, Ohio for 17 years. They went out of business at least 10 years ago. Now that he is almost retirement age, he is wondering if it is possible that he is eligible for any kind of pension from the company. I believe they may have filed bankruptcy. How would he go about finding out?

This may help you. Go on line %26amp; search for Employee Retirement

Income Security Act. A U. S. government program. Good luck.

I just downloaded my messenger..it is using my given name rather than handle..how do I change that?

I'd rather some of the people I chat with NOT know my real name until I decide it is safe to do so. I am in a business that I will get a lot of IM's and would rather be known as my handle so my privacy can be protected and people don't show up at my home wanting information
I just downloaded my messenger..it is using my given name rather than handle..how do I change that?
it'd be a lot better if u said which messenger program u were using

if it is in aim, then you can remove your information from the directory [go under edit profile and take your information out]

im not too sure about any other messenger program however

What do you think about the new Trade Center Tower to be renamed ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER?

it has been called the Freedom tower for years. They just changed the name. Also the first corporate leaser is some Chinese business conglomerate...

How do you like them apples?

One World Trade Center. (A hint?)
What do you think about the new Trade Center Tower to be renamed ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER?
You are correct about it being Chinese owned, but, those people had no problems with the name freedom tower.

My question is this: who does the name Freedom Tower offend?

and why would you go back with the same name as before 9/11 happened

Edit: Actually, I was in a hurry when I typed my original answer, it is not Chinese owned, but what I was saying that the company paying for the first lease is Chinese owned. I'll give you a link as evidence for that.
What do you think about the new Trade Center Tower to be renamed ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER?
    its bogus....

    another Liberal PC BS

You know what? The World Trade Center was a benign name and it still got destroyed..

    dumb@$$ political correctness...what a bunch of crap
I'm more worried about the new Minnesota Twins stadium being called Target Field than about the trade center tower being renamed
    The One World Contengency Center
Freedom tower was a STUPID name.I've always been for rebuilding it exactly the same, maybe one more story, and calling it the WTC. To show the terrorist that they changed/accomplished nothing.
    O.B.L centre
Are you people retarded or something? Do you really think the name %26quot;One World Trade Center%26quot; has something to do with %26quot;one world%26quot;?

The complex is named The World Trade Center. The address of the biggest tower is One. The others are Two, Three, Four and Five.

IT'S A FRIKKEN ADDRESSS! It was never officially named the Freedom Tower in the first place.

    This is so bizarre.

Mickey -- It is not Chinese owned. Why would you even make something like that up? -- OK, saw your edit. Don't need a link--I work there.

The Port Authority of NY and NJ owns it, as they always have. Yes, they've got a Chinese tenant. It's a center for WORLD TRADE. GET IT?

I need a xanax now. I cannot believe this.

5 years employed now no job they lost the business...go to file unemployment name not showing just two people?

Whats up with that? How can employers get away with that? The other girls names don't show up either I know of one girl who collected unemployement in the past 5 years. Now I see I was on salary for almost a year reporting weekly tips she took out, changing time cards without notifying employees,Drop me back to hourly wages which was 500. lost a month to me becausehigh utility bills but same week bought a tv, microwave and her a laptop. I am checking labor board on this..Paying taxes on sales that someone used my number on the register. I find out later When I recieved a check on wages I never filled a time card out she did it for me Of course it waswrong.. she needs to be tar and feathered Very Mad
5 years employed now no job they lost the business...go to file unemployment name not showing just two people?
You employer never paid into unemployment security.

Contact either the US labor board or your states labor board. Then contact the IRS, what they did was illegal and they owe big time.
5 years employed now no job they lost the business...go to file unemployment name not showing just two people?
Sounds like you are too trusting of people. You should know better than to leave yourself open and vulnerable like that. However you need to recover from this unfortunate scam and file grievance. There is really no way to prove your claims so I wouldn't think there is much you can do other than that. Try to get back to school even if you can go part time to secure a better employment position.
Kindly quit your complaining...find another job and get to work.
